چکیده
Abstract Rice beverages are traditionally prepared and consumed popularly by the different ethnic groups of North East India claimed to have several health benefits. In an attempt validate traditional claims, effects fractions beverage were studied using mouse model. To investigate its on behavior, mice treated with rice that included as a whole, insoluble soluble fractions. Intragastric treatments these given ( n = 6 per group) for 30 days, behavioral studies performed elevated plus Y maze evaluate anxiety spatial memory, respectively. Next-generation sequencing metagenomic DNA indicated presence 157 OTUs, 26 bacterial genera dominant abundance 0.1%. The fraction whole reduced anxiety-like symptoms in animals indicating probable role microbes. Spatial memory improved all compared control, which treatment showed highest levels p < 0.05). Gas chromatography mass spectroscopy-based metabolite profiling revealed 10 alcohols, 29 sachharides, 43 acids, 13 amino acids. Findings this study suggest positive effect mice, justifying claims communities mood regulation.

Kurozu is a traditional Japanese rice vinegar. During fermentation and aging of the Kurozu liquid in an earthenware jar over 1 year, a solid residue called Kurozu Moromi is produced. In the present study, we evaluated whether concentrated Kurozu or Kurozu Moromi could ameliorate cognitive dysfunction in the senescence-accelerated P8 mouse. Senescence-accelerated P8 mice were fed 0.25% (w/w) con...

During a critical period of postnatal age sensory experience has a profound effect on maturation of visual cortical wiring. Electrophysiological evidence is indicating a substantial effect of visual deprivation on the visual cortical response properties. In this study we evaluated effect of light deprivation during a limited time of postnatal age on two aspects of spatial (working and reference...
